Colouring moves the world!

On World Kids Colouring Day, initiated by STAEDTLER, children not only move a pencil, pen or crayon, they move the entire world.

Today, second time in Forest of Peace.

Every year in May, budding artists put their ideas to paper on an annually changing theme and bring them to life. Afterwards, the works of art are given to family and friends in exchange for a small donation which goes towards supporting different educational projects around the world.

As ‘children colour for children in need’ is the motto of every World Kids Colouring Day.

There is no two ways about it that our planet needs your help. Excessive carbon dioxide levels are getting released into the atmosphere which contributes to global warming. Is there something that can be done about it to turn it around? There is a desperate plea to ensure the survival of our planet and restore it to its former glory. One such organization, ‘The Future Factory’ works through the iCTET (Intelligent Child Teak Education Trust) to invest in our children’s future. What they are working towards is truly commendable. The human race is looking for clean air, and the trees are in need of pure CO2. You will be astounded when you get to learn just how much CO2 gets distributed on a daily basis.

It is a known fact that each person distributes at least 12.4 tons of CO2 per annum or more due to household operations such as showering, cooking food, washing, etc, An additional 11.7 tons or more get released into the atmosphere through commuting to work, computer use, mobile phones, etc.  We have many helping hands who go on to produce carbon dioxide such as writing personnel, janitors, rangers, workers, researchers, drivers, pilots, service personnel, managers, etc.

We want to expand our reach with regards to Co2 which means more people, more freedom, and a feel good feeling created for all of our friends house (sharing with nature). It is not about green-washing or compensation, but the very fact that we want to live together in harmony, meaning in tune or in balance with mother earth. Good News

According to several scientists, the earth’s climate will stabilize if we could slash the worldwide Co2 emissions in half. Planting trees is  half the battle won as it will help absorb the carbon dioxided being distributed freely. We could all be on a roll and contribute to a greener friendlier planet by supporting worthy causes such as iCTET by Forest of Peace and fund the growth of one of our teak trees which in turn will help secure the education of a child in turn.

What happens depends on the type of forest and the severity of the fire. Some types of forests, such as teak tree forests, typically do not burn down during a fire; the fire burns the low-lying vegetation but not the trees and regrowth is quick. Other forests, with a dense canopy take many decades (even over a century) to replace.

Let’s face the facts.

Immediately after a large-scale fire, some places will have no vegetation at all and no living trees left. If the fire occurs during the growing season, some plants will re-emerge within days after the fire. After a year, a tremendous amount of new forb and grass growth occurs. Within 4–5 years, woody plants become more evident such as bushes and sapling trees. This is a successional forest, and it is an extremely important type of habitat for plants and animals — additional sunlight fosters diverse plant growth and therefore more food sources for plant-eating animals.

Kids Future Day @ 1st Forest of Peace

What is particularly noteworthy about Forest of Peace is that they believe that the number 13 is a lucky number. This spells big things for this year’s Save The Children drive where creativity abounds. After all we are in the year 2013 which ends in the number 13.

What is more, is that Forest of Peace is big on the environment, and as you may have guessed, the coloring pencils would have been made without harming our precious forests. Forest of Peace desires nothing more, but to help educate our children on the importance of caring for the environment.

You can be sure that a lot of the coloring activities on World Kids Coloring Day will focus on what is needed to ensure the survival of our forests to the benefit of future generations.

On Coloring Day children will be encouraged to embark on various coloring activities which will include environment related pieces of art where kids will learn more about trees. What makes Forest of Peace such a powerful influence on special events like these is that they provide grants as well various gifts for the sake of orphans who need all the encouragement they can get.

Another benefit that will be highlighted on World Kids Coloring Day would be that 800 million trees are about to be planted in Thailand thanks to another project ‘Touchdown for Thailand’

Forest of Peace knows the benefits that children will get to realize from coloring in pages using a variety of coloring pencils that are Eco-friendly. Essentially, it teaches kids about the world of colors in that they get to recognize basic colors like green, red, blue, yellow, pink, and other colors commonly used.

All kinds of coloring activities will take place on this momentous day where kids get to experiment with their creative flair and get to create their very own works of art masterpieces.  

Forest of Peace is proud to have a part in the World Kids Coloring Day, and views it as the ideal way to educate everyone present about the benefits of taking care of the environment. Parents who are present will be amazed by their kids ability to coloring in beautiful trees and even animals that live in and around these trees.

Adults will have a large part in the coloring activities on the day as they will get to choose the activity pages to help young minds appreciate mother nature in all its glory. This day in the year 2013 featuring the lucky number 13 will bring both joy and luck to everyone present as they get to witness the educational benefit being realized by kids on World Kids Coloring Day.

Announcing “World Kids Colouring Day” May 2013 Event

World Kids Colouring Day 2013

The theme of this year’s event is “Paint Your Future.” Forest of Peace has organized annual education, painting and art festivals simultaneously at various events across several continents.

This year is no exception. 21 countries in all are participating this year. And no matter in which country a child colours, the goal remains the same. To tap children’s creativity to support other children in need.

World Kids Colouring Day provides the creative spark that helps stimulate the collective expressions of creative communities unrestricted by geography, economy and political ideology. Participating events are each based on unique concepts and staged in stunning parts of the world.
It’s all part of the 2013 Staedtler Childrens Future Day…an education, paint and art festival now in its 3 year. The event is 04-06th May 2012 at Chock Chai, Chanwat Nakhon Ratchamisa, Thailand.

The 2013 event promises an unforgettable experience for participants of all abilities, as well as for charities for the media and sponsors.

The event has the following three Guiding Principles:

1. Education on trees
2. Provide grants to orphans
3. Giving children a future

World Kids Colouring Day features plenty of events and activities including open painting, a future t-shirt design competition, tree planting, and a variety of physical competitions with prizes.
In addition, there are five Confirmed Showcases including two artists’ shows featuring balloon characters a sorcerer as well as The Iceman.
